Westcliff University organized the Sixth Annual International Symposium on Business and Education Research (SyBER) on June 9, 2022. The symposium comprised Wesctlif University alumni, faculty, and students to present preliminary and completed research on relevant topics. This year's SyBER topic was- "Staying Ahead of the Curve: Innovation in Action" and offered a platform to showcase research and projects carried out in business, education, technology, and law. More than 380 participants attended 23 presentations at this year's event. I was awarded the Best Student Presentation for presenting my topic, "Transformation in Working Culture Among Teaching Professionals: Aftermath of Pandemic."

ZETA is a Technical Symposium held at Tata Consultancy Services(TCS) ILP, Hyderabad Centre. The objective is to bring out the best from the participants, channelize their creativity appropriately and provide them a platform to showcase their abilities. An unprecedented 100+ abstracts were received over 5 different categories like Engineering, IT, Mobility, Techno friendly and Bio-IT. The abstracts were shortlisted with multiple rounds of discussion and verifying genuine involvement in the project and the projects were segregated into two categories – Innovation and Implementation. After weeks of rigorous evaluation, mentoring and guidance around 48 projects were shortlisted and put up on display. The senior associates from TCS Hyderabad from R&D, Mobility, and ISUs who were invited to the symposium brainstormed and discussed various ideas with the trainees and encouraged them. They had in depth discussions with all the participants to understand and gauge their level of involvement. I won the best project implementation award in ZETA V3.0, Ideas Unlimited.

Indian Model United Nations (IMUN) is an International event organized yearly by St. Xavier's & Ryan International Group of Schools wherein the participating schools chose countries and mock sessions of United Nations Conference. The countries spearhead various International issues demonstrating excellence in achievement, diplomatic skills, depth of knowledge, understanding and co-operation. Altogether 102 schools from across India and 8 from abroad participated in the 4th Session of IMUN, wherein we represented the country "Czech Republic" and bagged the "Best Country Profile" award.

Retrieval of mid-visible land scattering albedo over Dehradun, northern India and its sensitivity to atmospheric parameters in Current Science (September 2013)
Land surface albedo is an important parameter in modulating surface solar absorption and hence energy balance of the Earth. Albedo is not just a manifestation of surface properties, but it represents the coupling with atmospheric conditions as well. An important requirement to accurately estimate the spectral land surface albedo is to consider the absorbing and scattering properties of the atmosphere. Changes in land surface albedo can perturb not only land surface parameters but also influence precipitation and land–ocean circulations. More importantly, the radiative forcing due to aerosols is strongly dependent on the albedo of the underlying surface. It has been observed in the atmospheric radiation measurement programme that the land surface albedo depends on solar zenith angle over snow-free surfaces. Radiative transfer computations have shown that broadband land surface albedo could be estimated from the topof-atmosphere (TOA) observations using parameterization techniques. Here, we attempt to estimate the spectral land surface albedo for the first band (0.52–0.59 μm) of RESOURCESAT-AWiFS sensor by implementing SMART (Simple Model for Atmospheric Radiative Transfer) code with single scattering approximation 7–9. SMART has been used for aerosol optical depth (AOD) retrievals for airborne and space-borne sensors. The objective of the study is to understand whether the technique can be used to address the growing interest in the retrieval process of surface albedo parameters from one of the widely used Indian satellite sensors.
Implementation of a simple model for atmospheric radiative transfer code in single scattering approximation for retrieval of aerosol optical depth over Dehradun, India in SPIE- The International Society of Optics and Photonics, Journal of Applied Remote Sensing (August 2013)
The retrieval of aerosols using remote sensing requires an accurate estimation of both atmospheric and land surface parameters. Radiative transfer codes along with simultaneous field measurements are used to solve the forward and the inverse problems. This study uses the simple model for atmospheric radiative transfer to simulate the aerosol optical depth (AOD) over Dehradun, India from the top of atmosphere signals recorded by first band of AWiFS sensor onboard RESOURCESAT. The analysis has been carried out for five satellite datasets acquired at different time periods with single scattering approximation (SSA) for aerosols and molecules. The results have been compared with those obtained from MODIS aerosol product. A maximum difference of 0.156 has been found between the calculated AOD from the model and those obtained from MODIS product. The differences in the results may be attributed to exclusion of multiple scattering contributions, different time, and geometry of image acquisitions along with the difference in relative spectral response of the two sensors. The algorithm in SSA is found to be best suited to retrieve AODs for clear days with low particle loading.
